product recallA product recall has been implemented on two separate items after several toddlers have been reported as falling out of them, and in some cases, suffering from injuries.

Step2 Whisper Ride Touring Wagon has been recalled due to reports of the seat detaching, resulting in dozens of children falling out. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) fourteen of the falls resulted in bumped heads and nine resulted in bruises, scratches or lacerations. The wagon is has two blue seats, a tan wagon base and a red canopy. The Step2 logo appears on the canopy and on the side of the wagon base. The wagon was sold at Toys R Us stores nationwide and online at ToysRUs.com from Feb. 2013 to Aug. 2013 for about $130. (Source: wcvb.com)

Owners of the wagon should immediately stop using it and look it over. You can determine if the wagon was a part of the product recall if the seat belt is attached to the removable blue seat back, according to the CPSC. Consumers can receive a free repair kit if they contact Step2 toll-free at 866-860-1887 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit the company’s website at www.step2.com.

A gliding cradle also has a product recall after a report of a one month old falling to the floor after the mattress support board partially fell out. The infant was not injured. A second report involves a four month old who was sleeping when the mattress support board became partially disengaged.

The CPSC said the product recall includes all four colors of the Lullaby Cradle Glider, manufactured by Dream On Me. The crib is made of solid pine with slats on all four sides and a base that has a gliding side-to-side motion. The cradles were sold online for about $130 through Kmart, Kohl’s, Sears, Toys R Us and Walmart from Oct. 2011 through June 2013. Parents should stop using the cradle immediately. Anyone who has one of the cradles is asked to contact Dream On Me toll-free at 877-201-4312 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, or online at www.dreamonme.com.
