One of the many gems we are lucky to have here in Massachusetts is the Tanglewood Music Center (TMC), the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO). Its reputation precedes itself with a history of the most revered musicians all of whom have made an appearance there during its 80 plus years.

Tanglewood is a beautiful escape sitting on over 500 acres in the Berkshires which also makes it a great option for a weekend retreat. Music of all genres will hit the stage this summer from classical and jazz to popular artists. Unique to Tanglewood is its summer music program. Fellows at the Music Center study among the icons of the BSO and are frequently able to join them onstage. A once in a lifetime opportunity for them and for those watching the performance. Guests are also invited to watch rehearsals early in the day. Bring a blanket for the lawn and enjoy the warm summer nights while listening to performers collaborate in groups you will only hear there! It is a place every New Englander should experience.

Have young children? Tanglewood gives back to the community by offering family friendly performances and opportunities to see and hear instruments up close. In addition, children get in free to some shows. Students can take advantage of discounted tickets and they always offer a vast range of ticket packages and prices so everyone has an opportunity to attend. Tanglewood brings art to the Berkshires in hopes to reach as many people as possible. They host a variety of different events and the lineup this summer is fantastic. Get tickets, have a picnic, and experience Tanglewood.
